NEIGHBORHOOD VIBE

Fremont is a laidback waterside enclave on the north bank of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. Located just east of Ballard, this quirky community is home to an eclectic mix of restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bars. The Burke Gilman Trail runs along the Ship Canal and is popular with nearby walkers, runners, cyclists and commuters.

The self-proclaimed “Center of the Universe” is home to several public artworks including a 53-foot rocket statue and the famous Fremont Troll. Every June brings the Fremont Solstice Parade produced by the Fremont Arts Council. The festivities occupies several streets and includes dozens of floats, musicians and the Solstice Cyclists. The fair also features craft booths, music stages and beer gardens.

The Fremont Sunday Market is open year round, rain or shine. It features over 150 vendors from a variety of trades including fresh produce, handmade crafts, street food, vintage clothing and up-cycled furniture. The Market is dog-friendly and free to the general public.

FREMONT RESIDENTS

Fremont is great for those who prefer a slower pace to that of downtown, while maintaining proximity to all of the activity. Residents range from urban professionals and young families to artists and retirees. There neighborhood is comprised a mixture of homes, condos and apartment complexes.
