Feng shui is the ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment (Wikipedia- Feng Shui). Feng Shui is the study of Qi/Chi- energy in our environment, which is specific to every space, relative to the time when the building was constructed, and to the people who are living or working within that space. Feng Shui is also about change, what we do in our environment will ultimately affect the outcomes of different aspects of our lives.
Here are a few Feng Shui Improvements:
1) Some objects such as mirrors, crystals, wind chimes and water are believed to have the power of redirecting, reflecting or shifting energy.
2) Avoid Poison Arrows by minimizing sharp corners that point in the direction where people are sitting and sleeping. The usage of pillars and rounded corners on walls will eliminate Poison Arrows.
3) Avoid Clutter- Clutter collects bad Qi and obstructs good Qi. Clear clutter inside and outside of your home, including the basement and garage.
4) Close all the bedroom, bathroom and closet doors before you go to bed. If there is not a division between two rooms, install a door or curtain.
5) During the day, keep all bedroom doors open and bathroom doors closed.
6) Every week, open the windows to let fresh air in and to allow good Qi to circulate throughout your home.
7) Close bedroom windows and curtains before sleeping.
8) Do not sit or sleep directly under a ceiling fan or wind chimes.
9) Do not sleep at the lower side of a sloping ceiling.
10) No TVs, computers, moving water or large plants in your bedroom.
11) Remember that fresh flowers activate Romance Luck.
12) In your bedroom, make sure you are not sleeping against a wall with a toilet or fireplace/chimney on the other side.
13) When creating water features, make sure the water flow is directed towards the center of your home.
14) Because evil spirits travel in straight lines/roads, make sure doors do not align with other doors or large windows.
15) Stairs, mirrors or large structures should never face the front door
