NEIGHBORHOOD VIBE
Denny Triangle is not South Lake Union, or Belltown. The urban triangle-shaped neighborhood is bordered by Denny Way, Olive Way and 5th Avenue. This vibrant neighborhood seamlessly integrates both professional and residential communities with restaurants, lounges, cafes, and shops.
When it comes to dining there are so many great places to chose from. Tom Douglas’ fantastic urban market place Assembly Hall (located across the street from the new Amazon towers and dome) is home to TanakaSan a modern American Asian restaurant and bar; Assembly Hall Juice and Coffee; Home Remedy, a market and deli; and flower store. In this neighborhood you can find Le Caviste Wine Bar, Mistral Kitchen, Barolo, and Tutta Bella Pizzeria. Grocer Whole Foods is the place to go for groceries, as it’s conveniently located within walking distance. (In the same complex as Live2200 condominiums).
What’s great about Denny Triangle is that you are close to it all. The neighborhood has a Walk Score of 99 out of 100- a Walker’s Paradise so daily errands do not require a car. The neighborhood is located centrally, which makes it an easy walk to Downtown, South Lake Union, Belltown, Capitol Hill, or Pike Place Market neighborhoods. Additionally Transit score is 100!

HISTORY OF DENNY TRIANGLE
The Denny Triangle neighborhood is named after one of the most major regrade projects in Seattle, that took place in the early part of the twentieth century. The Hill was named after the Denny family, who were among the city’s earliest founders. Over a hundred years ago Seattle was very hilly and city planners of the time decided that Denny Hill must go in order to build and progress the city. The major regrade, land flattening project, transformed the hill into what is now Denny Triangle. Fun fact: To give you an idea of the scale of the Denny Hill, prior to the regrade, the Fourth and Blanchard Office Building, also known as the Sedgwick James Building or Darth Vader building, is located on the site of what was once the highest point of Denny Hill, Belltown. The 17th floor is the marker of the peak of the former hill.
In recent years, the Denny Triangle neighborhood has become one of the fastest growing in the city, thanks to Paul Allen who turned this once desolate, somewhat sketchy part of town into a thriving popular neighborhood.
