Palihotel Seattle
Earlier this year we shared that the Colonnade Hotel Building on the corner of First Avenue and Pine Street would be undergoing renovations to return to its original use as a hotel. It was announced that California-based hospitality company Paligroup will operate the 96-room boutique hotel, now called Palihotel Seattle. This is Paligroup’s first expansion out of California.

Built in 1898, the Colonnade Hotel Building at 107 Pine Street is both a city landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places. Paligroup and their development team will preserve the building’s facade while making minor additions. In 1912 the building’s northern side (Pine Street) was demolished and reconstructed approximately seven feet to the south to allow the enlargement of Pine Street. Paligroup plans to add two window awnings as a nod to the features removed in 1912. The hotel will also feature a lit metal canopy above its entrance. The First Avenue storefronts will be preserved and also feature new awnings.

Palihotel Seattle is scheduled to open next Summer and with it will come restaurant, The Hart and the Hunter. The original restaurant opened in 2012 at Palihotel on Melrose in Los Angeles. The Southern-leaning restaurant and bar is expected to also feature a coffee bar. The Hart and the Hunter is best known for their breakfast/brunch. The menu includes their famous biscuits, shrimp and grits, avocado toast, and kale salad.

Palihotel joins a list of other downtown hotels that are scheduled to open next year, including the nearby State Hotel on 2nd and Pine; the 229 room Charter Hotel – Curio Collection by Hilton on 2nd and Stewart; and the 1,260 room Hyatt Regency Seattle on 8th and Howell.
