Construction Plans for McGuire Apartment Tower Belltown

The old McGuire Apartment lot, at 210 Wall Street in Belltown is finally getting some action! Its been about 5-years since the 9-year-old 25-story high-rise apartment tower was torn down due to extensive structural construction defects too expensive to fix. Since then the flat gravel lot has just sat, vacant and fenced. Now plans are in action to build on the lot.

Developer Avalonbay Communities is planning a 24-story, 320-unit apartment building with ground floor retail. Parking for 260 vehicles will be located below grade. Ankrom Moisan is the building Architect and Brumbaugh & Associates is the Landscape Architect.

The project goals are to maintain the comfortable urban center aesthetic of Belltown. The proposal outlines more specifics: to create a vibrant pedestrian and retail street experience for the neighborhood; to develop a residential community that provides a playful, active environment for local community to engage with; reinforce concepts of the designated “Growing Green Vine Street” landscape model, emphasizing the pedestrian oriented green street model.

The Early Design Guidance meeting will be held at City Hall 600 5th Ave Room L280 on November 3, 2015 at 7:00 pm
