A construction permit was filed on July 18 for Daniels Real Estate’s proposed high-rise tower at 800 Columbia. Daniels, along with partners, purchased the site in December 2016 for $14.2 million.
The LMN Architects designed 30-story tower will include 287 condominium units ranging from studios to one and two-bedroom units. According to the Daniels Real Estate website, “the vision for 800 Columbia is to provide mixed income high-rise housing within a short walking distance of downtown and the central business district.”
There is one level of lobby and fitness space is planned along with one level of roof deck amenities. Amenities will include a shared rooftop deck, fitness center, and a dog run. There will be four levels of below-grade parking for 234 vehicles and bicycle storage.
About half of the lot, located on the corner of Eighth and Columbia, will be a new two-tiered public park. A larger lower plaza and a smaller grassy plaza located on top of the building’s fitness center.
Daniels Real Estate has recently worked on the new F5 Tower at Fifth and Columbia. LMN Architects is also working on the new Washington State Convention Center addition, Seattle Aquarium’s Ocean Pavillion, and the 1,264 room Hyatt Regency downtown.
800 Columbia is scheduled for completion in 2020.
