Amazon is planning up to three more buildings to come up in the Denny Triangle area of South Lake Union.
The block in question is bounded by 7th & 8th Avenue and Bell & Blanchard Streets, the current home to Cornish College student housing, Budget Car Rental, and Hurricane Cafe.
The Design Review filing for the proposal is available here on SeattleGov. They want the city to grant its request for privatizing a through-block public alley.
According to the proposal filed with the city, if the city grants the alley vacation, Amazon proposes three buildings, which include a 24-story tower, 7-story building, as well as a one-story building. This would include a total of 835,200 sq ft of offices and 35,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail with parking for 835 vehicles.
However if the city denies Amazon the alley, option two would call for a 24-story tower and a six-story building, which would include 777,600 sq ft of office space, 37,900 sq ft of floor-level retail with parking for 777 cars.
Back in January Amazon purchased the block, known as Block 21, from Clise Properties for $52.2 million, public records show. Adding it to the list of properties owned by Amazon.
