On the agenda for the Downtown Seattle Residents Council Quarterly, we will learn about the future vision for putting a lid over the I-5 freeway. Local advocate group, Lid I-5, will present on how lidding freeways has expanded parks, pedestrian walkways, and developable land in growing cities across the country, including Dallas, Duluth, St Louis, and Trenton who have either lidded or have plans to lid their center city freeways. Then Kathy Nyland, director of the Department of Neighborhoods, will explain how the City of Seattle is reimagining the way it works with neighborhood constituents.
