The last privately held green space, a 1.8-acre lotknown as the Denny Playfield in the South Lake Union neighborhood, is slated to become a high-rise tower. The lot is owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allens development firm Vulcan, who submitted preliminary plans andis asking the city of Seattle panel to review the designs for a 18-story office building with a three story commercial structure, and a 41-story residential tower with either a single or two story retail structure.
