NEIGHBORHOOD VIBE
The International District is a vibrant and culturally rich neighborhood located just south of downtown and one of eight historic neighborhoods recognized by the City of Seattle. Within the International District are three neighborhoods known as Chinatown, Japantown, and Little Saigon. Some of the festivals and events in the community include Night Markets, Lunar New Year Celebration, Bon Odori, and Dragon Fest, which is held every July. The International District is also host to a number of delicious restaurants and superstore, Uwajimaya, which has just about everything you could want or need.
There is the Danny Woo Community Garden that contains nearly 100 plots, a children’s garden, chicken coop, outdoor kitchen and fruit tree orchard. The Wing Luke Museum is a must-visit where you can immerse yourself in the rich history, dynamic cultures and art of the Asian Pacific Americans.
The Industrial District boasts a Walk Score of 96 and a transit score of 100. It is easy to get around the area with Public Transit and the Link Light Rail station. The neighborhood is also bikeable.
INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT RESIDENTS
This neighborhood is the center of Seattle’s Asian American community. Since most of the neighborhood is protected as a historic district you’ll find older buildings mixed in with newer ones. There is a mixture of apartment complexes and condos.
