Bosa has announced that they will be working with James K.M. Cheng Architects for the Civic Square Tower project located at 601 Fourth Ave in downtown Seattle. As we previously shared, Bosa paid $16 million for the 1.3 acre property along with a $5.7 million contribution to the city’s affordable housing fund.
James K.M. Cheng Architects is also working on the 2000 3rd Ave Dome Residential Tower.
According to notes filed with the city, the plan is for the development of a 572-foot / 43-story tower with approximately 520 residential (condo or apartment units), street-level retail, below-grade parking for approximately 640 vehicles, and a 25,000 square foot public plaza.
The Bosa maintained plaza will have a water feature running beneath the building similar to the one at Seattle City Hall located a block above. There will be retail and cafe space on Third, including landscaping around the entire property. Parking will be accessed off James via a landscaped drive court in order to avoid obstructing traffic on the street.
The first design review meeting is scheduled for September, with hopes of construction beginning in late 2018.
