Project Terry LLC, an entity of Vancouver B.C. based Westbank Projects Corporation is close to getting permits to build two large apartment towers after buying more land at 707 Terry Avenue. They recently paid $11.4 million for the Frye Art Museum’s parking lots, located on the west side of Terry. Last summer Westbank paid $3.2 million for Bloodworks’ parking lot, located on the north end of the site. Perkins + Will is designing.
Leaning Towers of First Hill- 707 Terry Avenue Towers
In documents filed with the city, the 707 Terry Avenue facade will be “composed of a series of shoji screens, representing a canvas and woven together to create a framework. The initial pattern of the screens represents the layout of certain art work on the walls of the Frye, and as the screens are shifted, new patterns begin to emerge, creating an artful representation of urban living.” The design team is targeting the LEED gold standard.
They will not be taking part in the Housing Affordability and Living Agenda (HALA) so all units will be market rate.
Work is expected to start on the 707 Terry Avenue Towers in January 2018 on what will be a three-year project.
Westbank’s other local projects include two 41-story residential towers at 1200 Stewart Street and a 46-story residential tower with a geodesic dome on top at 2000 3rd Ave.
